Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre. The raw material used in the production of viscose is natural cellulose obtained from wood and bamboo leftovers. The cellulose is turned into pulp boards and then dissolved in sodium hydroxide. The liquid is pressed through thin openings to form a fibre, which is hardened in a bath. The composition of viscose is like that of cotton, however, it is not as durable as cotton. Viscose has the benefit that it feels very soft and can be dyed well.
